I was trying to find a place to eat for some sushi. I have been here in the past and everything was average to good. The service is good and there were only 2 people at the sushi bar. The restaurant did get a young group of about 10 that came and and they were a bit loud, not that bad. There were 2 waitresses working and they were quite busy but still friendly. On to the food. Sitting at the sushi bar I decided to try the assorted sashimi. I was not disappointed, the fish was fresh and very neatly displayed which makes the meal appetizing. I enjoyed my sushi with a beer and hot sake. The hot sake was average.. hopefully the assorted sashimi plate will always be the same so I can come back for more!

My family has eaten at this restaurant ~5-10 times over the past year. The food has always been good. The fish has always been fresh. We've always left satisfied. And, truly, the service has been fine. Food is 5 stars (relative to price). Service (our experience) is 4 stars. Ambiance is 3 stars. Solid.

Service continues to excel here and food just gets better. My first requirement is an awesome teriyaki sauce that's sweet with plenty of ginger and this place continues not to disappoint. The recipes continue to be legit authentic Japanese flavors and styles with a twist on sushi rolls from the new sushi chefs bringing a new experience improving on previous generations in new rolls and exciting new creations not limited to for example the salmon lemon roll. The salmon lemon roll which brings a fresh taste that cleans your palette on each bite will make you crave it even more on each bite. New additions including curry and Korean influenced short rib combinations gives alternatives to their already awesome bento boxes, boats and udon varieties. I highly recommend this restaurant and get spoiled by their amazing staff.

Overall, a pleasant dinner experience :) ! My friend recommended it since she lives in the area. All of the employees are really friendly and courteous :) ! We came here for dinner after watching a movie at the nearby AMC Atlantic Times Square. Since it has been colder than usual in Southern CA these past several days, we decided to get udon. My friend got the regular udon. I got the Nabeyaki udon. Our waiter was friendly, and checked on us and refilled our green teas at least once. They might have been shorthanded because he wasn't able to be as attentive after more people came in. We had to wave him down to ask for the bill. A fly seemed to have entered the restaurant at some point when perhaps the front door was opened by a customer. It was flying around and we found ourselves constantly waving it away from our food. Finally, our waiter came with a fly-swatter and tried to swat and shoo it away. I don't think he meant to make a commotion. But there was just so much swatting and shooing activity right around where we sat in his attempts to try to get to the fly. If it wasn't for that, we would have had a much more relaxed dinner without having to look constantly around us for the fly possibly landing on our food. The udon was hot and delicious and our green teas kept us very warm as well on a cold day :) ! There is a small parking lot in the back of the restaurant and we easily parked there :) ! Overall, it's a really nice and quaint restaurant in the heart of Monterey Park where you can get seated and served right away :) !
